SOUNDSCAPE REFLECTIONS : MARCH 29, 1975 (LED ZEPPELIN SETS AN INCREDIBLE STANDARD ON THE MUSIC CHARTS)

ON THIS DAY IN MUSIC HISTORY,  March 29, 1975, legendary rock band LED ZEPELLIN held the distinction of being the first band to lock in an amazing SIX spots on the Billboard Albums chart at the same time! Their release release that year "Physical Graffiti" led the charge at #1, while five albums they released dating back almost six years held spots on the chart:
- Led Zeppelin IV (#83, released Nov. 1971),
- House of the Holy (#92, released Mar. 1973),
- Led Zeppelin II (#104, released Oct. 1969),
- Led Zeppelin (#116, released Jan. 1969),
- Led Zeppelin III (#124, released Oct. 1970)
Quite a tremendous feat and likely something that will never be duplicated as today's releases are dominated by singles and EP's. Each of the six albums noted above were certified multi-platinum by the RIAA. The British band formed in 1968 and consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham.
